Bollywood Bop

Last night Adam and I went to a "Bollywood Bop" at one of the colleges. They had performances by Indian dancers and then it was opened for dancing. It was actually a lot of fun and we really enjoyed watching the dancing.
We realized we haven't actually seen any Bollywood films before so plan to do so soon : )

In case you are wondering. This is a photo of Adam and his friends showing us their dance moves. I believe this was called " the shopping cart"

Adam's first Blog Post

Through a combination of persistence and good luck I was able to have dinner with George David, Chairman of the Board for UTC (Carrier corporations parent company) on Tuesday night. As a bonus Mr. David brought a number of high placed executives including the President of Carrier's European operations, with whom I was able to speak extensively.

The most surprising part of the evening was the executives willingness to hand out their business cards. During my time at Oxford I have met a few high placed executives. These executives are invariably nice, but I have never seen them pass out their contact information. I was even more surprised to find that when I emailed the Chairman and another executive I got a response from a real person.

I am cautiously optimistic that these contacts may lead to a job

If you are wondering, Mr. David believes the severity of the financial crisis is overblown by the media. Check out the chairman's speech on the UTC homepage at the link below.

Rugby Update

Well you will be happy to know that Adam survived Rugby. The game was more of touch Rugby so thankfully it wasn't too violent. He did promptly learn that he needed to buy cleets and new pants as he was quite muddy after practice. He seemed to enjoy himself though : )

This has been a fairly uneventful week but tonight Adam is in London meeting with Oxford Alumni.

Jackson...

wanted to share this with all of you. He apologizes for the angle, that is Mom's fault.

Sunday Morning

Hi There.

Well this week Adam actually had some time off on his own. I went back to work on Tuesday while he is still on vacation. He started working on job applications and of course he spent lots of time spoiling the puppies. Jackson is truly enjoying all of the parks and foot paths around Oxford.

On Friday a friend here had a birthday so we met some friends out and found that the Oxford Castle is much more interesting than we though. There have a large variety of shops and nice restaurants on their grounds.

Last night other friends had us over for a delicious dinner. We had Indian food and Adam made us all laugh when he used his Roti as a taco to eat his food.

Today, Adam is headed out to go and play Rugby ! There is a team starting today with students from the business school. We both thought that it would be a great opportunity to try something new and of course if it works out, he has something else to add to his CV. Wish him Luck !!
