Back in Oxford

Well I am happy to report that we had a safe and uneventful journey home. The dogs did well on the airplane and all of their paperwork passed through customs so they are finally home !!!
They have already discovered a warm spot near the heater and they are both sound asleep.

We want to say thank you to all of you that made this such a wonderful and special Christmas. It was wonderful to see you all and I promise that we are missing you already. For those of you that we weren't able to catch up with, I hope that you had a wonderful Holiday.

Safe arrival

Well it is official, Adam has completed his first term at Oxford. Now we wait until February to see how he did. All of the grading is done anonymously and by two professors so grading takes forever.

Yesterday we left our house at 6:30 am ( 1:30 am NY time) and did not arrive at our parent's house until 1:30 am the next day. WOW ! Our flight was delayed, there were problems unloading baggage, we hit NYC rush hour traffic and of course the weather was terrible. We saw far too many cars off the road. We are however here safe... finally.

We had a very nice surprise when we got here as my sister brought Jackson to my parent's house so both of our dogs were here !!! We were so happy as we thought we would have to wait until the morning to see him.

The final week

Five more tests to go !!!!

As you can imagine Adam has done almost nothing but study this weekend. I actually feel bad because he is getting pretty bored with it. I have been very strict making him stay in his office and study. I would be so annoyed if I were in his shoes.

Today I met with a bunch of spouses and we had a Christmas Cookie Exchange. Adam told me to make something with peanut butter and chocolate since it is a North American thing. There was only one other American there and she made the same thing : )

Long week

Well not too much has happened this week. Adam studied every day, all day and all night - he is taking his first test as I write. I started my new job. It was fun and the kids are very sweet but I am EXHAUSTED , TGIF ! Today they performed a Christmas play for the parents called " Ralph the Reindeer" It was so adorable but now I can't get the songs out of my head as we have been rehearsing ALL WEEK. I am actually quite impressed with the students performance.

We are now counting down the days until we get home......

Lazy ( or not so Lazy) Sunday

This week Adam finished classes !!!! He has one assignment due tomorrow and then the rest of the week is all studying. He has been a busy, busy guy.
On Monday night Adam had dinner at the Vice Chancellor of Oxford University's house. The dinner was for Kevin Roberts, the Global CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, which is one of the biggest advertising agencies world wide. Adam thought he was a really interesting guy and he enjoyed the talk.
On Tuesday Night we went to see a talk by Muhammad Yunus. He is a Nobel Peace Prize winner who established micro loans in Bandladesh to help families start small businesses and reduce poverty. http://muhammadyunus.org/
On Friday we walked around Oxford and took pictures of the holiday lights.
Saturday I took a train into a nearby town with an actual shopping mall. There were seven of us in shopping heaven. Unfortunately I didn't find much to buy... I guess knowing that I would be home in two weeks and everything would be much cheaper prevented me.
Here are a few pictures of one of the lecture halls at Adam's school. So now you can see where he actually lives.
